Some good news.

We will be represented at four conventions this summer. Jason from Key 20 will be representing Dark Skull Studios at the GAMA trade show. He will have both books for sale there.

My beautiful wife and our Prime Associate Marion will have a booth at ApolloCon http://www.apollocon.org/ They will be doing demos for those of you wishing for a demonstration.

Jennifer Schoonover one of our fantastic writers will have a booth at DexCon. She will be doing demos all day.

And I will be at a small mini con in Houston called U-Con.

In other news, the fourth book in the New Gods of Mankind Legendary Artifacts is in the final stages of Layout. It should be in PDF by the end of the month.

Hello again,

After a long month of doing taxes and dealing with personal matters I would like to post what is happening at Dark Skull Studios.

We just wrapped up our second convention at Owlcon. For our company it was a great success! We sold many products, and dealt with many friendly customers. More PDFs than hard copies were sold. Our plan is to sell PDFs directly to customers in a CD format. This format was a great success.

Our plan was simple from the start. Do on site demonstrations of the product. Sell the product in whatever format people wanted.

We sold hard copies of our first product and PDFs in bundle packs. Our two bundle packs were sold as a Core Pack and Master Pack.

The Master Pack includes a PDF copy of DSS001 New God’s Handbook, DSS002 Fate’s Guidebook, DSS004 Fate’s Screen and DSS005 The Celestial Gardens along with a new version of the Character Sheet in PDF. Price before tax is $24.95 USD burned on a CD with a logo label.

The Core Pack includes a PDF copy of DSS001 and DSS002 along with a new version of the Character Sheet in PDF. Price before tax is $13.95 USD burned on a CD with a logo label.

We also ran specials with the hard copy of the book along with the PDF bundles. We will plan to do this again at another convention.

Right now we have plans to offer these CDs in an order form online. Customers will be able to pay for the CDs through Paypal.

Back to topic,

Our first customer bought our product that day right when we opened shop. The gentleman was one of the play testers for Dark Heresy the last product for Black Industries and a product I personally picked up. If you read about a guy getting blown up by a frag grenade that is his character. Very nice guy, he bought two PDFs of the Master Pack.

We had a few more customers throughout the day.

One the second day I talked to the convention owner (or planner) about doing demonstrations at our booth. He had no problem with it.

So the second day we did 30 min demos of our product. This went really well and drove sales up. We sat down with people, rolled up characters and described the rules as we went along. People were impressed and not a single group I did a demonstration with refused to buy a copy. We did not coerce them. They just bought the book and told me of their plans.

One lady and her husband made a profound remark to me. She told me, she has been waiting for a game like this for years. They bought the PDF Master Pack and a hard copy of the book.

During the day we also got two interviews. One was for Rice University. Another was for a gaming news source online called online gaming news. Here is the address on the web http://www.myspace.com/onlinegamenews . If someone can find the Rice University video let me know.

In other news:

We are looking for demonstrators! If you want to demo our product let us know. You can get some really cool swag to include stickers, posters and later on a T-Shirt with our Logo. For more information contact us at info@darkskullstudios.com

If you want to demo and sell our product we can work something out as well. We are willing to pay up to 50% of sales to you plus some of the vehicle gas if it is a long trip.

Right now we are working with our fourth printing company to get our second product out the door. We hope things will go well and DSS002 will be printed by the end of the month!

DSS006 Legendary Artifacts and DSS007 Tokens and Followers are the next two projects we will be working on. Look for these items in PDF by the end of April.

Dark Skull Studios just wrapped up a demo at the West Houston tabletop and RPG meetup group. Things went really well and everyone drew interest into the game. Today I would like to announce the sale of DSS005 The Celestial Gardens! Currently this title is available in PDF, but it will be on sale by Feb.

Greetings Gamers and regular Joes and Janes,

I would like to announce finally the selling of DSS001, New Gods of Mankind New God’s Handbook and DSS002 New Gods of Mankind Fate’s Guidebook in Hardback through Key 20. Go to www.key20.com and buy the books on the front page.

This has been a long time coming after many delays and set backs.

DSS004 and DSS005 are on track for final production. Late this month you will see Fate’s Screen a GM screen ready for PDF download. The hard cover edition will not be out for some time. But when it comes out you will be amazed. DSS005 The Celestial Gardens will be out very soon. PDF should be ready by the middle to end of this month. The hard cover edition should be ready by early Feb.

DSS006 Legendary Artifacts is in production and it is shaping up to be a fine product. It should be ready by March/ April for PDF with May for the print run.

I will be doing a series of articles for self publishing entitled Role-Playing what is it and why should I try it?

Dark Skull Studios would like to update you on what is happening and will happen in the New Year. We are all excited about the products being produced here and its been a blast. Some patience has been needed as of late but overall we are happy.

First off is DSS002 New Gods of Mankind New God's Handbook. We want to apologize to everyone who has ordered this book. Recently we had a snafu at the printer which was corrected. It looks like the second book in hard cover will be at our house and ready to ship in two weeks or so.

If you want to order both books at the same time we have a bundle deal, Get DSS001 and DSS002 for $42 USD. This deal will be valid all year long through us at Dark Skull Studios.

We still have those who ordered on file. We will send out invoices once we get the shipment in.

On other fronts, our next product DSS005 New Gods of Mankind The Celestial Gardens should be done in less than two weeks. Look for it on RPGNow DrivethruRPG and Key20 in PDF. This book is not just "fluff" but has a lot of meat. Additional rules for miracle casting and a complete adventure are included in this book. The book itself is about a neutral place where gods and Fate meet spirits once they die.

I personally feel this is our best work to date. The content and artwork along with the layout are of very high quality. This book IMO should inspire anyone to play.

Our next product DSS004 Fate's Screen is coming out real soon. This is a GM screen with a nice twist. This GM screen will not just be for NGoM players but can be used for any gaming system. Right now we are working on the product and we hope to have a sample at the door this month which we will approve of. Stay tuned as this will come to PDF in the next week or so.

Our current project is DSS006 Book of Legendary Artifacts. We are currently writing up all the juicy weapons of the gods which are themselves semi sentient beings. It will be a smaller book than the previous ones. But it will pack a punch due to the content and awesome artwork.

We are looking deep into creating a graphic novel this year or another RPG. Stay tuned for more information on this and other DSS products.
